We come to you for brake caliper repair
If your brake calipers start to leak or stick, Lube Mobile is here to help.
Without regular maintenance your brake calipers will eventually start to leak or crack under heat and pressure. This will reduce your braking efficiency and spill brake fluid onto your disc rotor - not to mention your driveway.
If brake calipers become worn or sticky or you are experiencing uneven wear on the brakes, we can overhaul or replace your brake calipers at a time and place that suits you. Once all parts are fitted we will bleed the entire brake system and make sure your brake fluid is at the correct level.
We only use quality parts on your vehicle and can replace any damaged or worn parts onsite at your convenience. It's easy to book online or call 13 30 32 to make an appointment.

How much does brake repair cost?
Not every braking system issue requires a brake pad replacement.
A brake pad on it's own is not expensive, costing between $50 to $100. However, once your brake pads have failed, which is quite common, you must consider changing other parts of your braking system including the brake caliper, brake drums, brake line/hose, brake shoes, disc rotors, wheel cylinders, master cylinder or wheel hub bearing which may be worn. The price of these components will largely depend on the make and model of your car and the overall condition of your braking system.
In instances where a foreign object gets caught inside a brake caliper or there’s dust or moisture between the brake pad and brake rotor disc, our mechanics can perform minor repairs to get them fixed. In all cases, our mechanics will inspect your vehicle and provide you with an itemised quote before we start any work. Got questions? Ask us. Our friendly team is here to help!

Brake Caliper FAQs
What is a brake caliper and how do they work?
Brake calipers are a vital part of your disc brake system, housing your car’s brake pads and the pistons which push them onto your car’s disc rotor.
The (mostly) aluminium calipers are responsible for slowing down and stopping your car by using hydraulic pressure to create friction on the brake rotors once the brake pedal is applied. Maintaining proper brake caliper function is essential for safe driving and they should be inspected at regular intervals.
Here is a breakdown of how brake calipers work:
Activation of the Brake System
Pressing the brake pedal pushes brake fluid from the master cylinder into the brake lines, creating hydraulic pressure which travels to your calipers.
Creating Hydraulic Pressure
As the pressurised brake fluid enters the caliper, it forces the piston(s) to push outward.
Brake Pad Engagement
The moving pistons press the brake pads against the rotating brake rotor disc, and the friction between the two brings your vehicle to a stop.
Release of the Brakes
As you release the brake pedal, the hydraulic pressure decreases and the caliper's pistons retract, allowing the brake pads to move away from the rotor and remove any friction.

How do I know if my brake calipers are failing?
Brake calipers should last the life of your vehicle, but in some circumstances that won’t happen. If you notice any of the below, call Lube Mobile to arrange an inspection by the same or next business day:
- Your car pulls to one side under brakes
- Uneven brake pad wear
- Squeaking or squealing noises under brakes
- Leaking brake fluid
- Vehicle takes longer to stop or requires more braking effort
If you notice any of the above symptoms, book a routine service or repair today and we’ll come to you at a time and place that suits your schedule. We can usually reach you by the same or next business day!
Do I need to replace my brake pads at the same time as my brake caliper?
It’s not always necessary, but it’s highly advisable to inspect and where necessary replace your brake pads and rotors whenever installing a new brake caliper. This will ensure even wear and consistently optimal braking.
Further, while replacing one brake caliper is ok, we also recommended replacing both calipers on the same axle to ensure even braking performance and avoid potential safety issues.
