How soon can a mobile mechanic get to my location?
Because we have Australia’s largest network of mobile mechanics, we can usually arrange same or next business day bookings. Our fully qualified fleet of mechanics are ready to perform a wide range of routine auto services or one-off repairs so you can stay on the road the convenient and cost-effective way. How much does it cost?
This always depends upon what you need, if replacement parts are required and the make, model and overall condition of your vehicle. We will always strive to give you a fixed price up front via an itemised quote and we will never start working on your car before we get your approval. This keeps in control of costs by helping you decide whether repairing or replacing a part is the most cost-effective solution for the long term life of your car. If you are unsure what is wrong with your car and just need a mobile mechanic to come out and fix it, we have a repair call out fee which includes the first 15 minutes of labour. After this, we charge a competitive hourly rate in 15 minute increments.
Do I need to be a Lube Mobile member?
No, we are a service and repair company just like any workshop, except we come to you! There are no ongoing membership fees because Lube Mobile isn't a club, you only pay as you need us.
Do I have to pay on the day?
Yes. Payment needs to be made at the completion of the job unless parts need to be ordered to complete your repair. In this case we will require a deposit on the day of our visit. A temporary Fuel Adjustment Charge of $7.90 per job applies to all bookings. This charge is reviewed regularly and may be adjusted or removed once fuel prices stabilise. Lube Mobile accepts EFTPOS, all major Credit Cards including American Express and Cash, Cheque, Fleetcard, MotorPass and MotorCharge. A 1.1% surcharge applies to all credit and debit card payments. We also offer pay later services such as Zip, Humm and Afterpay.
What is the fuel adjustment charge?
To help manage ongoing fuel price volatility, a temporary fuel surcharge of $7.90 per job applies to all bookings. This charge is reviewed monthly and allows us to continue offering reliable on-site servicing without additional travel or call-out fees. The charge may be adjusted or removed once fuel prices stabilise. It is a fixed fee per job, so customers know the cost upfront regardless of location
Is Lube Mobile a breakdown service?
No. We are not a breakdown service like the RAA, RACV, AAA or NRMA. However, if your car does break down in a location that is safe, ie. not a motorway or highway and with a speed limit of 60km/h or less, and we have a mobile mechanic available in that area, we may be able to assist once a timeslot becomes available.
Do you charge for travel time to go and get the parts?
No. We only charge for time actually working on the vehicle.
What is the warranty on your work?
Every Lube Mobile service and repair is fully guaranteed. Because we believe in the expertise, professionalism and attention to detail of our mechanics, we back all our work with a 12 month / 20,000km nationwide warranty Our warranty covers:
- All parts and fluids supplied, installed or serviced by Lube Mobile technicians.
- All labour performed by Lube Mobile mechanics.
In the event of a problem with any Lube Mobile service or repair, we will send another Lube Mobile mechanic out to you as soon as possible and call you back to to ensure you get the service you deserve.
What are your operating hours?
Our first appointment has an arrival time of 8.00am through to our last arrival time between 2.00 and 4.00 pm (dependent on workload). Our contact centre is available after 7.00am through to 7.00pm (AEST).
Do you work Saturdays?
Yes. Lube Mobile technicians come to you for car service or repair 6 days a week - Monday to Saturday
Do you work on public holidays?
Yes and No. We are closed on Christmas and Boxing Day, New Years Day, Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday and Anzac Day. However, on other national or local public holidays we are open with a limited crew. Please call us to confirm our hours of operation if your need any repair or service on your car. There will be a surcharge applied to any job booked for a public holiday.
Are your mechanics qualified?
Yes we only employ fully qualified mechanics that have been in the trade for 4 years or more. Lube Mobile also continues its training with internal and external training courses. We do train some apprentices to help the trade but you'll always get a fully qualified mechanic working on your car.
Are your team members franchisees or employees?
All Lube Mobile team members are employees, not contractors or franchisees. They operate Lube Mobile company vans to meet and provide the highest standard of customer service.
Does Lube Mobile do repairs as well as service?
Yes! Lube Mobile has been doing car repairs at a time and place that suits you for over 40 years. What does a fixed price car service mean?
A fixed price car service with Lube Mobile means you’ll receive a clear, upfront quote that includes all parts, labour, and GST before the work starts. There are no hidden costs, and the price won’t change unless you approve additional work.
