How much does clutch repair cost?

While a total clutch replacement can cost from $500 to $1,200, it largely depends on the make and model of your car. For 4WDs, performance cars and more exotic vehicles, the cost of a clutch alone can reach $2,000. With any clutch replacement the largest cost is labour, as it will take time to disassemble and replace all the clutch components. As most clutches are reasonably sturdy, you should only need to replace it every 200,000 kilometres, or roughly once over the lifetime of most cars. If you have recently purchased a car that is nearing this limit, it's a good idea to book a mobile clutch service to ensure that everything is working safely.
Once we've arrived at your location and inspected your vehicle and your entire clutch system, we will provide you with an itemised quote of the work required including the cost of any new parts. Because the work is done at your location, you can ask questions. We always strive to give you a fixed price up front via an itemised quote and we will never start working on your car before we get your approval. This lets you be in control of costs and help you decide whether repairing or replacing a part is the most cost-effective solution.
If you are unsure what is wrong with your car and just need a mobile mechanic to come out and fix it, we have a Repair Call Out fee which includes the first 15 minutes of labour. After this, we charge a competitive hourly rate in 15 minute increments.

A clutch flywheel can typically last between 80,000 to 160,000 kilometers in normal driving conditions, but this depends on factors like driving style, the type of flywheel you have and whether you mainatain a regular schedule of clutch maintenance.

Among the most common flywheel problems that can come up is contamination. A leaking rear main crankshaft seal or a transmission front input shaft seal can leak oil onto the flywheel.
