Things To Make Sure You Always Have In Your Car

It’s always good to be organised, and while you can’t always be ready for every situation, thinking ahead can often save you a lot of dramas. Whether you drive often or rarely, just being out on the roads will have you exposed to a whole range of potential challenges, so think before you get out on the road and do your best to cover your bases. A lot of the issues that can arise on the road can easily be rectified by always having some essentials in your car with you, so be sure to have the following things in your car to save both time and hassle.

A Phone

You can get fast and easy assistance anywhere, for almost any problem that you may encounter on the road, as long as you have a means to call for help. Whether you require car service in Sydney, car service in Melbourne, or you need to call for police or an ambulance, it’s important to always have a phone handy so that you can get things sorted out quickly.

Water

In a place as hot as Australia, water is always a big issue, so never leave home without at least a few liters of water stored away in your car. It is very common for even newer cars to overheat, especially during the summer, so make sure you have water on hand. All you will need to do then is pull over, let your car cool down, give it some water and you’ll be on your way again. Without enough water you can do serious and sometimes permanent damage to your engine.

Maps

Whether you have a GPS installed in your car or not, be sure to have a map in case you get lost or your GPS stops working. If you have a map it is easy to find your own way again or even have someone direct you by pointing out your best route on a map.

Jumper Cables

These important cables can make the difference between being broken down somewhere for hours or minutes. They are quite inexpensive to buy and will allow someone to help jump start you or for you to help others, so be a prepared and helpful motorist and get a set of jumper cables.

A Spare Tyre and Jack

If you don’t have a spare tyre you shouldn’t be on the road. Getting a flat is a very common thing to happen, though you will be hard to help if you don’t even have a spare. Having a spare but no jack is also ridiculous and will mean you are going to have to just hope that someone else goes out of their way to help you.

A Radio

Having a working radio is a smart move, not just for the luxury of listening to good tunes, but also to listen for traffic updates. Having the radio on can alert you to traffic problems in your part of the city and allow you to avoid spending unnecessary hours stuck in traffic jams.
